What To Do With All Your Empty Wine Bottles and Corks

I will speak for myself, I’ve been drinking a bit more than when I was working away from home daily. I noticed I had accumulated some wine bottles and the corks and turned to Pinterest on what I could do to upcycle them. I certainly found many ideas that could keep me busy during my reduced work schedule.

Whether you decide to upcycle to decorate your living space or opt to create a bit of fun for your garden, these ideas will surely lend some inspiration. You can always shop online and do curbside for the craft supplies or order on Amazon. You’re also doing the environment a little favor. Give what you made to a family member or neighbor to brighten their day. You can probably even sell on Etsy if you get really good.

Painted and Decoupaged Wine Bottles

Many techniques found on Pinterest like more realistic painting on wine bottles. I chose these options because I am not an artist and they seemed fairly easy and very visually pleasing. With so many paint options out there you can create just about any effect, especially the sea glass effect.

Keep Bugs Away With These Tiki Torch Ideas

It’s getting warmer outside and that usually means mosquitos out in our part of the valley. We also get to spend more time in our yards and gardens as the evenings are especially beautiful and warm. Make one of these tiki torches and fill with citronella to keep those buggers away.

More Garden Decor Ideas

Bird feeders, lights, fences, and planters galore. I especially love the hanging votive candle idea.

Ideas For Home Decor

Who knew you could flatten a wine bottle? Some really creative and somewhat easy ideas here. I’ve always wanted to make glasses from wine bottles.

What To Do With The Corks

Cork is actually a natural material native to southwest Europe and northwest Africa. Corks have been used to top wine bottles sometime in the mid-17th century in France. About 80% wine bottled uses natural cork. Some makers of wines in the mid-1990s started using synthetic corks and screw top bottles for cost. There was a scandal with wine produced where the cork that was used made the wine spoil. It caused quite an uproar. I didn’t post the obvious, which would be a bulletin board made out of cork. I’m sure you could figure that one out. These are some of the more interesting ones found.

If you end up taking on one of these projects, please let me know in the comments how it turned out.
